Lotus invites you to share your words, your art, your heart, in a special issue dedicated to our beloved founder and editor, Carrie Chang. Let your creativity bloom in honor of Carrie’s vibrant spirit and unwavering passion for the arts.
We welcome:
- poetry that sings with the same lyrical grace Carrie cherished
- prose that channels heartfelt human experience, as Carrie’s writing so often did
- essays that illuminate the beauty and wonder she saw in everyday corners of life
- art that bursts with color and life, mirroring the joy she found in every creative endeavor
…in short, pieces inspired by Carrie’s life or work—or that would have inspired her.
In addition to creative works, we also warmly welcome any personal tributes and reflections. Please share your memories of Carrie, stories that illustrate her spirit, or thoughts on how she influenced your life and creative journey.

In keeping with Carrie’s tradition, the official deadline for submissions is June 2, 2025 (Carrie’s birthday!). Given its fast approach, we will treat this as a soft deadline for letting us know you are planning to submit.
