Art inspired by Carrie’s poetry

Carrie’s poem “Of Miss Saigon, Madame Butterfly, Etc." inspired Bay Area artist Barbara Milman to create a piece called “China Doll Cabinet" that prominently featured Carrie’s likeness. The piece was included in Milman’s exhibit “The Nostalgia Factory" (1998 in Sacramento and 2001 in Oakland), along with a number of other poems and the art they inspired.
The piece also appeared on the cover of the accompanying gallery guide (see right).
See below for the poem as it appeared in the gallery guide, and a photo of Carrie and her parents during their visit to the exhibit.
